A Season of Growth, Gratitude, and Community

Hello Again, Julia’s Community!

This semester has been filled with meaningful moments, creative energy, and opportunities for growth across campus. Our students have been busy building connections, exploring new experiences, and reaching important milestones—and we’re excited to share highlights from a truly impactful season.

Building Community Through Shared Experiences

This fall offered many opportunities for students to strengthen friendships, build confidence, and engage with campus life.

Cornhole afternoons encouraged teamwork, communication, and friendly competition. Cooking class was another highlight, where students practiced practical kitchen skills, followed recipes, and enjoyed tasting the results of their efforts. Seasonal celebrations, including Halloween festivities, brought creativity and connection across campus. Yoga sessions provided students with opportunities to focus on wellness, balance, and self-regulation as the semester progressed.

Women’s Lacrosse Day Experience

Students also participated in a special lacrosse day with the Wingate Women’s Lacrosse Team. This experience allowed students to connect with collegiate athletes, learn new skills, and participate in group activities centered on teamwork and movement. The day highlighted inclusion, collaboration, and the importance of staying active while building meaningful campus relationships.

Choir Concert Performance
One of the semester’s proudest moments came during the Wingate Choir concert, where students performed the musical selections they had been practicing since the beginning of the term. Their performance reflected dedication, growth, and confidence, and it was rewarding to see their hard work shared with the campus community.

Homecoming Weekend Highlights

Homecoming Week provided students with meaningful opportunities to engage in campus traditions. They enthusiastically participated in Wingate’s long-standing tradition of toilet-papering the campus, helping create a festive atmosphere leading into the weekend.

Students also attended the Homecoming football game, cheering on the Bulldogs alongside classmates and community members. These moments reinforced a strong sense of belonging and campus connection.

Creativity in Full Color

Our art classrooms were filled with energy and focus as students embraced hands-on creative projects. This season, they crafted clay ornaments from start to finish—shaping, painting, and personalizing each piece with care and intention. Students also designed festive holiday cards, using their creativity to spread joy to friends, family, and community partners.

These projects encouraged self-expression, fine motor development, and pride in completed work, while also contributing to the spirit of the season.

Spreading Holiday Cheer in the Community

Julia’s Learning was honored to participate in the Union County Christmas Parade, riding on a float alongside the Munroe Misfits and Be The Lite Foundation. Students proudly represented Julia’s Community while spreading holiday cheer throughout the local community.

Celebrating Student Achievements

We are proud to celebrate Savannah Gill, who recently earned a Certificate of Completion from South Piedmont Community College for successfully completing the Microsoft Word Office 2016 course through Northstar Digital Literacy. This accomplishment reflects Savannah’s dedication, perseverance, and commitment to developing valuable digital skills that support academic success, workplace readiness, and greater independence. Her achievement is a meaningful milestone, and we are excited to see her continue building confidence and skills through ongoing learning opportunities.
