Summer Adventures
& New Beginnings

A Warm Welcome to Our New Students!

This past month, we proudly welcomed our newest Julia’s Learning students to campus! Our student orientation day was full of smiles, introductions, and exploration. Students had a chance to meet their teachers, connect with each other, and explore the spaces where they’ll live, learn, and grow. These first moments are powerful—they help foster a sense of belonging and ease the transition into college life. We're excited to see how each student will thrive within our inclusive, vibrant community.

Summer in Full Swing

As summer continues, many of our students are enjoying a well-earned break—spending time with family and friends, traveling, relaxing, or diving into hobbies they love.

Savannah has been dancing her way across the globe—celebrating weddings in both Malaysia and New York, and making unforgettable summer memories along the way. Nico set sail on a cruise through Italy and other parts of Europe, soaking in new cultures and experiences.

Some students are also gaining valuable experience through summer jobs, camps, and volunteer work. Eli participated in the Let’s Build Skills camp, a hands-on learning experience sponsored by the Kennedy Strong Foundation, where he continued to grow his confidence and practical skills.

Reghan has been working with the Bon Appétit team at Wingate University, where her dedication and positive attitude have made a lasting impression.

Celebrating Eli’s Big News

We’re thrilled to share that Eli has been awarded a scholarship from Ruby’s Rainbow! This incredible organization is on a mission to support college students with Down syndrome in achieving their dreams of higher education and independence. Eli’s hard work, dedication, and growth have inspired all of us, and this well-deserved recognition is just one more step on his exciting journey. Congratulations, Eli—we are so proud of you!

Looking Ahead

We’ve also been hosting a few summer Zoom meetups with both returning and incoming students—fun, casual check-ins that help keep our community connected and excited for what’s ahead.

With the fall semester on the horizon, anticipation is building. We’re preparing for a season full of learning, community connection, and growth. From new partnerships to continued progress in our mission, Julia’s Community is growing stronger every day. As we welcome back returning students and begin new journeys with our incoming class, one thing is certain:

the best is yet to come!
