Our Julia’s Living students have a busy month ahead at Wingate University, and we’d love for the local IDD community to join in! From cheering on Wingate sports teams to enjoying concerts and other campus activities, there’s something for everyone.

Dancing the Night Away at

“Be the Light” Prom
Students dressed to impress and lit up the dance floor at the “Be the Light” Prom. The night was filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments celebrating confidence, friendship, and pure joy.

One Day, One Dog: Giving Back Together
Our students proudly took part in Wingate University’s One Day, One Dog, a special day rooted in service, generosity, and Bulldog pride. Whether giving, serving, or celebrating, the day reflected what it truly means to make a difference and be part of something bigger.

All Are Stars Game 2026
Students hit the court for the All Are Stars Game, hosted by Union Diversified Industries, showcasing teamwork, sportsmanship, and spirit. It was a powerful reminder that everyone shines when given the opportunity to play, connect, and be celebrated.

Big News: Wingate University Honored for Inclusion
We’re proud to share that Wingate University has been named the 2026 Enhancing Lives Award recipient by Union Diversified Industries! This recognition highlights Wingate’s commitment to inclusion, opportunity, and empowerment for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Programs like Julia’s Learning continue to open doors creating real pathways for education, independence, and community. This achievement reflects the incredible work happening every day and the belief that everyone deserves the chance to learn, grow, and belong.

A special congratulations to Michelle Lancaster-Sandlin, Executive Director of IDD Initiatives, whose leadership continues to help Julia’s Community shine bright.
